OZZY And His Team Of Doctors On OZZFEST Tour
February 18, 2004Richard Johnson of The New York Post's "Page Six" reports: "Ozzfest is going to be a little less raucous this year due to Ozzy Osbourne's recent all-terrain-vehicle accident in England. 'His doctors have said he needs six to eight months of rehab, which will end exactly when Ozzfest begins,' said our insider. 'His doctors did not want him to do the tour, but he insisted, so he is planning on having a team of doctors travel with him.' Onstage, Ozzy will have several well-placed chairs and poles to assist him if he should need to sit or stand during performances. Meanwhile, Ozzy's wife Sharon has enraged some Ozzfest bands by demanding they pay upwards of $100,000 to perform in the traveling heavy metal show. It's prohibitive for smaller bands,' said our source, who noted Sharon is focusing on trying to get METALLICA, SLIPKNOT and JUDAS PRIEST to sign on to headline the tour. A rep said: 'The Osbournes traditionally charge the lesser known bands for a marketing fee, but the Osbournes pay the larger bands — and there will not be a slew of doctors in the road.' "
